An art gallery… at a bottle depot?! Yes you read that right.

Get ready to view the world around you like never before.

Sage Hill Bottle Depot is delighted to announce the opening of our new art gallery installation.

Exploring the themes of sustainability, recycling, ecological balance, and personal responsibility, the Sage Hill Gallery has been designed to spread awareness about the damage plastic can do to the environment.

Today we’re going to take a look at why we decided to set up an art gallery. We’ll look at what the story is behind the gallery and why you should visit to see the fantastic art for yourself.

Yes, a bottle depot really is the perfect place for an art gallery

We wanted to create an art gallery at Sage Hill Bottle Depot to explore how plastic waste and trash can impact the environment with our community.

We’re hoping to encourage open conversations between friends, family, and students centering around the effects of mismanaged waste and the damage it causes to our beautiful wildlife, oceans, forests, and rivers.

What’s the story of the art gallery?

The art gallery is split up into three different sections, which you can navigate and experience for yourself when you visit.

The three sections are focused around three central themes:

  1. Chaos
  2. Community
  3. Order

Starting at the south side of the building and ending at the north side, the art gallery takes you on a moving journey with unique pieces of art.

Let’s take a closer look at each section.

Chaos

This side of the wall represents chaos.

Vivid images are scattered on the wall, and they’re there to show us the harsh reality of the impact our actions have on the world.

The images on the wall of chaos were chosen to highlight where the world currently is in terms of the environment.

We wanted people to recognize how the world truly is, which can be difficult due to the safe bubbles we tend to envelope ourselves in.

Community

The next selection of art pieces transitions the story from chaos to community. It shows various canvases of people from all ages, ethnicities, and genders coming together to do something about the mess we’ve created in the world.

It’s bursting with a strong collaborative feeling. It shows how we can all work together to make a greener and healthier environment.

All these images are organized, transitioning from the unsettling chaos section to the community section.

There’s a gorgeous central image with other small acrylic canvases that creates a triangular shape. This image shows us that there can be more order in the world if we all work together, stay connected and move in the right direction.

Finally, we come to the last installation of the art gallery, which explores restoring order.

This side of the wall is a collection of six images that are all hung regularly. One image that sits at the top of it all shows us how we, as a community, can conquer this problem.

The images here are all beautiful landscape shots from around the world. The place is well organized, and everything looks healthy and happy.

This is our united goal.

This is where we can bring our story, and this is what we want to achieve around the world.

The art gallery at Sage Hill Bottle Depot is the perfect place to bring your children or even students to teach them about the importance of the environment.

We hope that our collection of art will show the younger generation that it’s our responsibility to influence how our world’s future turns out.

We want to teach them to take care of the environment and know that with their help the world is one small step towards becoming a better place when they choose to recycle.

The more people we educate, the more people become environmentally conscious, and we can do all this with your help.

Visit our art gallery with your friends, family and children to show them the importance of our world and everything that lives in it.
